Mistletoe State Park Hiking Trails

The Southeastern United States is a great location for an outdoorsy vacation and Georgia is right in the middle of it all – while you are there, make sure to visit the Mistletoe State Park hiking trails.

Mistletoe State Park

Mistletoe State Park is located just outside of Appling, GA on Mistletoe Road (the inspiration for the park's name). Close to the South Carolina border, this park is one of the northernmost state parks in Georgia. It is situated on the 72,000 acre Clarks Hill Lake, and Mistletoe Park itself is quite large in size – measuring 1,920 acres. The park boasts many different activities within its boundaries, including camping, fishing, boating, swimming, bicycling, and of course, hiking.

Before you even get to the Mistletoe State Park hiking trails, you will notice that there are plenty of places to stay here. There are 92 campsites available for those who want to bring their own RV (recreational vehicle), tent or trailer – and one camping cabin available for rental. If you would like to stay in an outdoors atmosphere but don't enjoy camping, there are also 10 cottages available for nightly rental in the park. Additionally, there are some non-traditional campsites that are available, such as the Backcountry Campgrounds and the Pioneer Campsite.

For those who are not as experienced, or who want a shorter hike, there are also 3.5 miles of nature walk trails located around the lake – a shaded and cool place to take a break from the rest of your day's adventure.

You can easily make reservations to camp at the park, or find maps to any of the Mistletoe State Park hiking trails online at the Georgia state parks' website.
