Summer Camp Jobs

Seasonal summer camp jobs are a great way to spend the summer. You get to have a bit of fun and get paid for it. That isn’t a bad deal at all.

Summer Camp Jobs

By definition, summer camps are seasonal businesses. They are up and running from late May to September or October depending on the location and type of camp. As seasonal businesses, camps have problems finding workers because most people prefer year around work. This means the people that fill summer camp jobs are often in their late teens to early twenties.

Finding summer camp jobs isn’t particularly difficult as long as you keep an open mind. Most start the process by looking for a counselor position. In fact, practically everyone takes this approach. Obviously, there are counselor jobs available, but competition can be heavy.

The best way to get a counselor job is to have a specialty of some sort. If you have expertise in any area, flaunt it on your application and interview. You may have an expertise and not realize it. For example, if you played on your high school tennis team, you have an advantage over most other applicants if you apply for a tennis counselor position. The same goes for practically any sport. Before filling out your application, give your unique qualities some thought.

If you have doubts about getting a counselor job, don’t fret. There are plenty of summer camp jobs in other areas. Summer camps desperately need people to fill administrative positions such as drivers, kitchen workers, general maintenance, first aid providers, office assistants, receptionists and secretaries. If you can fill any of these spaces, it will be pretty easy to find summer camp jobs.

Summer camp jobs are plentiful if you keep an open mind. Start applying early and you should be set by the time summer rolls around.
